Fall on the farm and giving thanks
To me November is a wonderful month to take time and reflect, give thanks, and truly see the blessings around us. As the leaves turn and winter comes I love the changes it all brings. Read on to see some of my favorite fall moments around the farm, plus how we prepare for winter, and download a very special printable in collaboration with @Bryartonfarm you can do with your little ones. Let’s all give thanks together.
This year has been a very hard year for so many. Let’s be honest it’s been hard on all of us. We have all branched out of our comfort zone and step into the somewhat unknown with a pandemic and all it has brought. I am more grateful than ever this year for my health and the health of my family. It is something I definitely don’t take for granted.
Being on the farm has brought me a sense of peace I did not have before we moved here. I want to instill that peace into Little Ava. I know she already experiences it when she is outside with the animals. She loves every second! It’s just so fun!
Look at her in her tiny bathrobe! Just the sweetest! This time of year it’s great to get your property ready for winter. There are a few things we have done in preparation.
Stock up on hay for the winter
Seed pastures
Clean up the garden
Plant an orchard
Stock up on supplies that might be hard to get in winter
Order any bulk food items and restock the pantry. I get most of my bulk items HERE
Plant seeds in the greenhouse to have things growing year round.
There’s also a winter checklist you an download and use to ensure you’ve got everything ready come winter. You can download it HERE
As you prepare your homestead take time to also prepare your heart and give thanks. I teamed up with my beautiful friend Sara Jo from @bryartonfarm to crate the most GORGEOUS printable you can use in your homes this season. She is an incredible artist and painted her sweet turkey Gilbert for this project. On it you can write why you are grateful and I think it’s wonderful to put is somewhere prominent in your home that you can daily be reminded of things to give thanks for.
You can download it HERE or just drag the image off the your screen and save. See more of Sara Jo’s incredible art in her Etsy shop HERE.
I hope you can use this printable and it can be a blessing to you and your family! Much love always!
Annette
