Holiday Gift ideas with Ball®Canning

This is my favorite time of year and decorations and gift wrapping are in full swing. I love gifts that are wrapped with natural elements and it’s even more fun when you can store your supplies in beautiful Ball® Canning jars! Read on to see what I do with my canning jars when they are not being used to store our harvest!

This post is sponsored by Ball® Canning! Opinions and love for the jars are my own.

IDEAS FOR GIFT WRAPPING

When it comes to wrapping gifts and even decorating your home I love to use natural elements. Greenery, dried oranges, cinnamon sticks, etc. Tied with beautiful ribbon and tiny brass bells.

These items display beautifully in Ball® Canning jars and can even look as part of your decor sitting on your desk or counter. You can grab a ribbon and tie it with a little bell on a jar of homemade jam and it makes the perfect gift!

Keep things simple and have fun!

I love the large Ball ® Canning gallon size decorative jars! They are perfect to store ribbon and even display ornaments in as you can see in these pictures! Easy and simple is always best for me. Georgia the kitty was “helping” me as I wrapped presents.

DRIED ORANGES

I’m sure you’ve seen dried oranges in decor lots in the past years but I feel it’s a timeless look that is always fun to make and easy to make. It’s a wonderful family activity and inexpensive too!

HOW TO:

Take a bag of oranges and slice thin.

Turn oven on to 200

Line a baking pan with parchment paper and place oranges.

Place in oven for about 6 hours until they are dried out but not burning. They might still be a little wet when out of the oven.

Your home will smell AMAZING!

Leave them overnight to dry.

String them up to display as garland, tie them to gifts, add them to a tree, or simply place them in a Ball®Canning jar where they will look beautiful for the holiday season!

If you’ve preserved any of your harvest adding a few festive touches to the jar makes it a perfect gift to share with others! You don’t even have to gift something that’s been preserved! You can add dry ingredients such as nuts and cranberries, raising, chocolate covered almonds, and give someone a tasty treat. Plus you can gift cookies and even fudge in them!

This season should be all about giving and focusing on what’s important.

It has been so wonderful to share with you as a Ball Canning ambassador ways to preserve your harvest and enjoy the tradition of canning. Preserving our food is very important to us and I hope to share more with you in the seasons to come! See more of how I learned to can HERE
