This time of year the air is crisper and it’s just cozier to stay inside and enjoy a nice cup of cocoa. Little Ava has been by my side as I decorate and prepare our home. She was most excited about the chicken ornaments! I mean who wouldn’t be? They are just so cute! You can find these at your local tractor supply in the Red Shed® section. There are lots of super fun farm ornaments! I’m obsessed.

A warm cup of cocoa and fresh cookies is hard to resist and I’ve got a favorite hot cocoa recipe to share with you! See below.

This little mug is so fun too! It says “ Count Your Blessings” Which is something I’ve truly tried to do this year.

HOT COCOA RECIPE

2 cups almond milk

1/4 cup dark chocolate chips

2 Tbs cocoa powder

1 tsp vanilla extract

Pinch of sea salt

Warm all ingredients in a small saucepan until well melted and blended. Top with your favorite whipped cream.

I love the detail of this little solar powered lantern! It can be hung inside or even out by the chicken coop! Tractor supply has quite a variety of solar light and I have used them all around our farm from our chicken coop to our garden.

Ways to stay connected this time of year

  1. Bake together! It’s fun and delicious! Make it a challenge to have no screen time during the time you’re baking. Take that time to talk and really connect as you do something fun together

  2. Share those cookies with someone else. Whether your neighbor, teacher, or friend.

  3. Read a special book just for the month of December. Something you can look forward to each year.

  4. Gift your favorite book to someone and write a personalized message on it.

  5. Do one big family activity together each season. Whether it’s seeing lights, or cutting a tree down together. Take time to slow down and enjoy the season.
