Using First Saturday Lime around the farm.
One of my favorite products to use around the farm! It has really helped and I hope it’s something you can use too!
Keeping a farm clean and sanitary is a nearly impossible task. There are always things to clean and disinfect. Animal areas to clean, nesting boxes to spruce, water troughs to be drained and filled. Once product that has been a true game changer for our farm is First Saturday Lime.
I used to use Diatomaceous earth until I discovered this product. I love it above others because it is 100% natural and safe to use around the animals!! What is it? First Saturday Lime is a super strong desiccant derived from 100% natural products. It has the ability to dry out insects, eggs and larvae. This means that using it results in less bugs , mites, etc around your farm.
I was SO happy to find this!
SPECIFICS!
It is different from DE because it’s
-100% silica free
-It is a 0 health hazard product
-It’s easier on their respiratory system because it doesn’t cut the lining if it’s breathed when compared to DE.
IT IS PROVEN TO
repel insects
kill larvae
deodorize
absorb ammonia
control bacteria buildup
Where do I use it around Azure Farm?
1.) In our chicken coop all over the floor and inside nesting boxes.
2.) Inside and around the perimeter of the chicken run
3.) I our cat litter box to help with the odor ( It does help!)
4.) In our water troughs to help keep algae down.
5.) Sprinkled around the garden and garden beds to keep ants and critters down.
I love that it is a family owned business. They have put their heart into making such a great product and it shows! I am all about supporting that.
