Valentines Day Tablescape

Friends! You know I love table scapes and Valentines is always a special and fun one to do! I however don’t love a lot of the traditional elements of hearts and red colors so I went with a different color pallet and used items I had already in our home! You can just be a little creative and create something beautiful and different for your table. Of course Little Ava was there for the fun!

Keep reading to see what I did and I hope you love it as much as I do!

MATERIALS I USED

I used to design wedding gowns so romantic textures and colors have always appealed to me. I wanted this table to be beautiful yet still effortless. I love mixing metals, colors, and adding natural greenery for the perfect look.

Fabric Chargers- I’ve had some dusty rose velvet type fabric for a very long time in my home and I have never used it! I thought I would recover a chair someday but that has not happened. So I decided to take it to make plate chargers! I did this for Christmas also with green velvet and it worked great! Buying a yard or 2 of fabric and simply cutting out large circles for your chargers really works well and is much less expensive than buying a charger. I love how it looks too! Depending on the material you can spot clean or just throw in the wash and it really adds some nice elements to it!

Ribbon- I love a beautiful ribbon and I decided to tie it around each glass as a way to add color and texture without over doing it. I love these milk glass goblets and the ribbon tied to them looks so pretty! I. used two different colors, both a subtle pink to decorate with. Mixing colors and patters gives depth and character when decorating!

Napkins- I have decided that one way to make a table feel fancy is to have real napkins. They look so beautiful and yes you have to wash them but I promise they will make everything look and feel better if you use them. I love linen but you can use any fabric.

Vintage Flatware-The gold flatware was Jared’s grandmother’s and I love using something that is special and passed down whenever I decorate or entertain. I think that makes it just that much more special and memorable. I would say even mix and match your silverware, that’s okay too!

Candlelight- It is Valentines after all so nothing would be complete without some beautiful candlelight! I have vintage brass candlesticks I’ve collected over the years and they are perfect for any tablescape. The only red I added was these tiny little glass votives that added a pop of color and candlelight without being too loud or overpowering on the table.

TIP: Use old candle vessels to display flowers in! My favorite candle from Anthropologie comes in the most beautiful container! I save them then re-use for flowers!

Natural elements- such as flowers and foliage from around the homestead

I love flowers of any kind, but I particularly love when I can bring in elements from around the farm. Our Christmas tree had magnolia leaves tucked into it and when I pulled them out they were dry and still quite beautiful. So I used them to make a wreath for the dinning room as well as table decor. Since their color was muted I picked a few fresh leaves from our tree and added that onto the tablescape. I really love how the mixture of dry leaves and fresh leaves looks! Gives it more texture!

I do love roses but most of all I love ones that are not the traditional color pallet for Valentines. I went with more purple tones and even added some fun sea holly which are blue and so whimsical!

Not gonna lie, I still have Christmas cedar garland up on our big mirror and I’m not even mad about it. I think it looks good still!

I have a bit of an obsession with Velvet dresses so I of course had to match with my little lady and wear fun dresses! I hope she will always let me match with her!

I absolutely love the books on the piano! They were sent by a sweet lady who can send you real vintage books to match your decor based on what color scheme youre looking for!
