Fun Valentine's Day Heart-Shaped Cookies
It’s time for some love and sweetness all around!
And what would Valentine’s Day be without some fun, beautifully decorated heart cookies?!
These heart cookies are the sweetest gift to give to your loved ones or will look beautifully served at a special Valentine’s Day tea or get-together.
They are vegan, can be gluten-free, and oh-so-buttery with a delicious strawberry flavor.
Ava and I had the most fun making these; it’s the perfect family activity for this upcoming weekend!

valentine’s heart cookies recipe
ingredients:
For the cookies:
1/2 cup vegan butter (at room temperature)
1/2 cup organic cane sugar
1/2 cup organic brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour (you can use GF flour also)
2 tbsp tapioca flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
4 tsp almond milk
For the frosting:
1/2 cup vegan butter (at room temperature)
1/2 cup freeze-dried strawberries, crushed
3-4 cups organic powdered sugar
4 tbsp almond milk
Mini chocolate chips for sprinkling
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350 F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Cream the butter and sugar with a mixer until light and fluffy, then add the extract.
In another bowl, mix the dry ingredients well.
Slowly add the dry mix to the butter mixture and mix until a dry dough forms.
Add the almond milk, one tablespoon at a time, until the dough comes together.
Roll the dough to 1/2 inch in thickness on the parchment paper.
Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out hearts.
Bake them for 8–10 minutes. Do not overbake.
While they are baking, cream the butter for the frosting until light and fluffy.
Add in the freeze-dried strawberries and 1/2 of the powdered sugar and mix until combined.
Add the almond milk, and mix until the frosting comes together.
Add the remaining powdered sugar and mix until you get a pliable frosting.
Once the cookies have cooled, frost the cookies and sprinkle with chocolate chips!
