As the holiday season approaches, there's a special joy in transforming our homes into warm, inviting spaces that capture the essence of winter and Christmas.

It's the ideal time of the year when we can let our inner kid come out, be creative, and create something magical. No one will judge you when you go over the top with twinkle lights or reindeer everywhere! Anything goes, really!

This year, I aimed to create a cozy ambiance in our dining room reminiscent of a winter wonderland.

Bring the outdoors in

To kickstart the transformation, I brought in a bench from our outdoor space and placed it by the window. This created a cozy nook to sit in and enjoy the enchanting view of the sparkling Christmas tree or the beautiful frozen world outside.

Adding fluffy throw blankets and pillows in cream and earthy tones made it even more comfy and added a touch of rustic elegance.

I am all about bringing nature indoors. Don't be afraid to add elements like branches, leaf garlands, pinecones, and more!

Magical Tree Lighting

The heart of any Christmas setting is undoubtedly a sparkling tree.

To elevate its charm, I added extra candlestick lights to our tree this year. These illuminate the tree even more and cast a warm, inviting glow throughout the room. The subtle dance of lights added an enchanting ambiance, making the space feel magical and serene.

This year, Ava and I also made nature-inspired Christmas baubles. It was a great way to incorporate elements of our farm that are dear to our hearts, and they were so fun to make!

Chalk Marker Window Decorations

One of the most delightful and inexpensive ways to bring character to a room is by using chalk markers on windows.

Embracing my favorite part of the decoration process, I grabbed chalk markers to draw trees and paint festive string garlands on the windows. It was so much fun!

This playful and creative touch instantly infused the room with a cozy winter vibe, transporting us into a festive wonderland.

Decorating windows with chalk markers is not only easy but also reversible. The wipe-off feature allows for endless creativity, making it an ideal activity for adults and children.

Encouraging the little ones to join in adds a personal and heartwarming touch to the overall holiday experience.

Start by drawing a straight line down and then add little lines on each side. From there you can add more branches and fill in as heavy or thin as you’d like.
