Lunchtime Family Activity
A fun activity to do with your family this week! Take time to reflect on what you are grateful for!
We are spending more time at home now, why not make lunch more memorable for everyone by talking about reasons you are thankful.
SETTING THE TABLE
A fun way to set the table
Use kraft paper- outline the shape of plates and write everyones names around the edge.
Have markers or crayons so the kids can draw and color during dinner. The kraft paper is perfect for games like tic tac toe, etc.
Print out my grateful card and set it at each place setting.
Bring in any natural element from the outdoors! Whether wildflowers or branches, leaves, etc. Do a little outdoor scavenger hunt then decorate your table with what you find!
Add other fun elements to the table such as tops, or other games. Make it a fun family time!
HAVING MEANINGFUL CONVERSATION
Take time during dinner to talk about things you are thankful for right now. Actually write them down. The littlest ones might want to color what they are thankful for instead of writing. Now go around the table and have everyone list their reasons. Talk about them. Are they grateful for family? Are some of them family members they have not seen in some time? Plan to make them a card and send it to them. Are they thankful for anything in nature? Plan a special time to go outside and specifically enjoy the thing they are thankful for. Take the papers you wrote or colored on an put them on the fridge for the next week. Whenever you feel burdened or sad look at your list, reflect, and be grateful for the blessings you do have.
