Marigolds are the stars of the show during October and one of the most beautiful things about fall!

They are in abundance in our garden currently, and I simply had to find a way to use these gorgeous yet simple flowers. Their pretty orange, yellow, and red hues make them the perfect choice to add fall details to a corner of the home.

See below how I created a cozy fall moment in our home with a super easy DIY marigold wreath.

Marigold is believed to have derived its name from “Mary’s Gold!” . Instead of coins, early Christians used to place flowers, including marigolds, on Mary's altar as an offering.

In many cultures, marigolds often symbolize the power, strength, and light that live within a person.

Marigolds essentially smell like autumn with their musky smell! These annuals have daisy or carnation-like flower heads that either grow singularly or in clusters.

What I love about marigolds is that they are so resilient and hardy, can handle colder temperatures or scorching hot days, and are very easy to grow!

Marigolds can be planted from spring, when the soil starts to warm and the risk of frost has passed, until mid-summer. They will begin to bloom within 8 weeks of planting the seeds.

Creating cozy fall moments (or any season, for that matter) is about finding simple, small ways to do it. It does not have to be elaborate, expensive, or time-consuming.

For me, it’s about creating small vignettes or spaces that I can change often and give a corner or room a breath of fresh air. Small touches can make a big impact!

For this little corner in our reading nook, I made a marigold wreath and hung it onto a mirror to create a beautiful dimension and focus point.

Add a few extra items like pumpkins, dried gourds or corn, and some candles, and you have yourself a cozy fall corner!

How To Make A DIY Marigold Wreath

Purchase or make a small wreath with grapevine. You can get one HERE
Cut marigold heads from their stems, leaving a small piece of stem behind.
Use a hot glue gun to glue them to the wreath, or tuck them between the vines.
Tie a piece of twine around the wreath and hang it where it will brighten up your day!
The marigolds will dry but still retain their bright color.

It really is so simple and easy to do, but it still makes such a pretty picture! I love that this cozy fall moment was spent with my daughter, Ava. And that’s what it is all about for me - spending intentional time with loved ones!
